As part of a new era of revitalization for downtown Montgomery, Alabama, Pfeffer Torode was commissioned by Vintage Hospitality Group to renovate the historic City Federal building at 36 and 46 Commerce Street. The turn of the century bank building is rendered in limestone and features ornate plaster moldings, tall ceilings and original marble and heart pine floors. The hospitality complex centers around a new courtyard and loggia with an open kitchen and chef’s dining. The main dining room and Banquet Hall open up to the courtyard and feature murals by David Braly. The complex includes a basement wine cellar for dining, two mezzanine bars, a roof top bar, conference room, and offices for the hospitality group that operates it.
